Business Interruption Insurance Florida

Do you need Business Interruption Insurance in Florida?

The answer for most companies is yes!

Business interruption insurance, also known as business income insurance, may cover a loss of revenue that a company experiences after a covered loss.

For example, if a fire damages a company’s building and inventory requiring them to shut down while repairs are made and inventory is replaced, Florida Business Interruption Insurance may cover lost revenue during the shutdown.

What happens if your business is shut down due to a cyber-attack? A traditional business interruption insurance policy will not cover this type of claim event, so it’s important to consider an appropriate Cyber Liability Insurance policy that covers business interruption.

We at Strong Tower Insurance offer traditional Business Interruption Insurance in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.  Please call 1-800-329-0093 to speak with one of our cyber liability agents or click any of the below links for your specific location:

Business Interruption Insurance Florida – Explained!

A business interruption specifically due to cyber-criminal activities can be covered by a cyber liability insurance policy.

Please note how this reads with one policy:

SYSTEM BUSINESS INTERRUPTION

We agree to reimburse you for your reduction in profit during the system outage as a direct result of a cyber peril first discovered during the period of the policy. We also agree to pay costs and expenses on your behalf.

Another company defines their coverage this way:

Business Interruption Costs means:

  1. Business Interruption Loss Amount: the amount set forth in Item 4.b. of the Declarations for each consecutive hour of the Business Interruption Event.
  2. Additional Loss Amount: amounts in excess of the “Business Interruption Loss Amount” set forth in Item 4.b. of the Declarations representing the hourly average gross profit You have
generated in the previous six months, provided that you are able to: (i) provide evidence of such amounts; and (ii) prove to Us that You reasonably expected more than the “Business
    Interruption Loss Amount”.
  3. Extra Expense: the reasonable and necessary expenses You incur to mitigate the Business Interruption Event that You satisfy Us are: (i) less than the Business Interruption Costs that would have otherwise been incurred; and (ii) in excess of the expenses You would have incurred if not for the Business Interruption Event.

Keep in mind this could be an optional coverage that may need to be added to your General Cyber Liability Insurance Policy.

If your business relies upon your network for payment processing or providing services to your customer base then Business Interruption Insurance is a must.
